FAQ

The law signed by Governor Christie in September 2012 opened up a great opportunity for folks to come to and sample at New Jersey production breweries. But what exactly does that mean? Here we provide answers to most questions you can think of, but if not feel free to contact us.

What does the law permit?

New Jersey law allows consumers to purchase beer to go just by walking in. Consumers are allowed to purchase up to 1/2 barrel of beer a day, which is a 1/2 keg or about 6.25 cases. The law also allows you to purchase beer to consume on premise if it is in conjunction with a tour.  The state requires a tour each and every time you would like to taste beer on premise.

What does the Tasting Room look like?

We’re glad you asked. Take this cool virtual tour of the space. For best results use the directional arrows on your keyboard.

Are there special beers offered in the tasting room?

Absolutely. Every Wednesday we offer a different barrel aged beer. These range from beers aged in wine, tequila, rum and bourbon barrels to specially soured beers. Thursdays we feature cask conditioned beers as well as special one-off beers in our Gone Fish’n series.

When are you open?

Wednesday-Friday from 3-9pm, Saturday noon-9pm, Sunday noon-6pm. Tours are conducted on an on-going basis.

Do you sell kegs and cases for takeout?

We sell 4-packs, 6-packs, cases, 1/6 and 1/2 kegs and often special edition bottles.

What about growlers?

Sure, we sell growlers and will refill Flying Fish growlers. We will refill outside growlers as long as they have the Government Warning label on them. And of course, they need to be clean.

How do the tours work?

We offer guided and video tours. When the facility is in operation we’re not able to walk people through all areas of the brewery, but we will do our best to give you a look at what’s going on. We have scheduled tours on Saturday and Sunday at 1, 2, 3 & 4. These tours are a bit more in-depth and are limited to 20 people at each session. If you’d like to take one of these tours, sign up at the tasting room when you arrive.  If you need alternate times or options, we are also featured on City Brew Tours, who run daily tours throughout the city. Check them out!

How much do they cost?

Tours are free, beer samples are pay as you go.

Do you have to be 21 to take a tour?

Yes, you must be over 21 or accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

I want to bring in a large group, can I reserve space?

For groups over 20 people, please call the Tasting Room Manager. Otherwise just give a heads up for groups of 10 or more.

Can I schedule a private tour for my group?

Sure, as long as you call in advance. We offer a tour, souvenir pint glass and choice of beer for $10. We do need you to call in advance so we can make sure we’re staffed to give you the best experience. If you stop in with a large group unannounced we may not be able to accommodate you. May I bring my child?

Yes, well behaved children are welcome accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Non well-behaved children will be offered an espresso and a puppy.

Can I bring my dog?

Although the State of NJ prevents us from selling food or operating a restaurant, the Camden County Board of Health considers us a “food retailer” and prohibits dogs in the tasting room.  Well behaved dogs on a leash are always welcomed in the beer garden.  We even keep fresh water (and sometimes, treats) for them.

Do you serve food?

No, the law specifically forbids us from selling food or operating a restaurant.

Do you serve liquor or wine?

No, just delicious beer.

What’s the tasting room address?

We’re at 900 Kennedy Boulevard in Somerdale, NJ 08083. Turn down Linden street and into our parking lot.

View on Google Maps.

Can I get to you on public transit?

We are less than one mile away from the Ashland PATCO station. Exit the station, turn left onto Evesham Avenue, turn into Coopertowne Plaza shopping center. Follow along the parking lot past movie theater and Applebee’s. Make a left at the gazebo, that’s Kennedy Blvd. We’re about 100 yards on the left.

It’s really a lot less complicated than it sounds.

We are also accessible by NJ Transit buses that run along Route 30 and will drop you off two blocks from the brewery.

We want to bike over, where can we park?

We have bike racks right out front of the tasting room.

Do you host private parties and events at the brewery?

We host a variety of events for non-profit groups, professional organizations, corporate outings and individuals.  The best way to get more information is to call our Tasting Room Manager at 856-504-3442.

What if I have a question I don’t see here?
