Three New Exit Beers to Celebrate our 20th
We put out the first shipment of Flying Fish on September 4, 1996—a whopping 8 1/2s each of Extra Pale Ale and ESB! We’ve grown a bit since then and as the kick off to our anniversary year, we’re doing a first-ever release of Exit Series beers–Exits 5, 7 and 14 on September 1.
Exit 5 is a celebration of New Jersey’s pinelands and is kettle soured saison with pine needles, goldenrod and wintergreen.
Exit 7 marks our state capitol and the state’s iconic breakfast meat, even if we don’t agree on what to call it: Pork Roll Porter. Yes, there is actual pork roll that was added to the kettle. This one of a kind beer features hints of cocoa, caramel, smoke and spice.
Exit 14 Imperial Pilsner recognizes the giant neon eagle that shines above on top of that really big brewery there. It’s rich malt structure is backed up by intense malt bitterness and aroma.

Flying Fish 5K Registration Almost Sold Out
September 10th seems a ways off, but we’re looking at a sellout in the next week or so. For this 3rd edition, we’ve added a few hundred more spots but last year’s waiting list still exceeded that. The run begins and ends in front of the brewery and is part of the Somerdale Day festivities, including an ever-growing beer tent set up on our front lawn and run by the town for local non-profits.

Indie Street Film Festival –July 6-10th @ Red Bank River Center
Flying Fish is the proud sponsor this year at the Indie Street Film Festival in Red Bank RiverCenter.
Brought to you by the first Co-op distribution brand, the Indie Street Film Festival is looking to discover films and filmmakers who prove story is independent of budget. ISFF aims to pave the way for storytellers of the future, finding innovative ways to leverage cooperation, technology, and new media in order to foster creators to unite and grow their combined audiences. Taking place at multiple venues in Red Bank, New Jersey and anchored at the city’s historic Count Basie Theatre the festival will have attendees from around the world, but will maintain the grit and hard work that New Jersians and Independent filmmakers have shared for decades. Since ISFF is more geared toward cooperation than competition, all feature films accepted into the festival will be awarded the opportunity to join Indie Street as a partner filmmaker and be promoted through its VOD platform. Winners from each feature film category will enjoy a minimum 1 week theatrical release in NYC. Short film winners from each category will be considered for co-op inclusion, will be presented on the Indie Street platform, and will also enjoy participation in the theatrical release as an intro film for feature competition winners.
